SANS TETE

60” x 48” x 1.5″ Paper on Canvas

I once made a painting that was never shown and frankly, I didn’t like it very much because of the color and composition. However it had interesting detail, paint spatters, varied textures and a diverse assortment of marks. It would make good source material for my Paste-Up technique, because once it was scanned into the computer, the colors could be tweaked. Then, cut into many printed pieces, I could erect a completely new structure of shapes, lines and colors. This feminine form has no head, therefore I called it, Sans Tete (French for headless).
