THE GAMMA PLAN
30” x 40” x 2″ Acrylic on Vintage Blueprint Attached to Canvas in Custom Black Frame
What an Adventure! In a bin in an antique store I found a 1950’s blueprint of an industrial complex that no longer exists. After attaching it to a canvas, I began painting, pouring, scraping etc. Late in the process I coated it with Noxudol, a tar-like substance, then selectively wiped it away. It somewhat muted the colors which were way too bright anyway, and left interesting residue in nooks and crannies. One structure on the site was called the Gamma Ray Bldg. (see detail) hence, the title of the painting.
